2021 Hobie 16 Youth Championship

MY SAIL is excited to be hosting the 2021 Hobie 16 Youth North American Championship. This event always brings out the best in up-and-coming racers, as well as youth just wanting to enjoy the action and the company of like-minded kids.

The event will be held Aug. 2-6 at pristine Lake Quinault in the Olympic Peninsula Rainforest. What? A rainforest? Yep. The venue is underwater in the winter. But in the summer it is the most beautiful spot on earth! We’ve been sailing Lake Quinault for 30+ years!

Lodging

Registration will be capped at 25 entries. Lodging is limited, so attendees are encouraged to make plans early. The venue host — Rain Forest Resort Village — has cabins, motel, and RV camping. Some tent camping may also be available on site. This is a rustic setting. The RV park does have bathroom and showers. There are three forest service campgrounds on the lake as well — Falls Creek, Gatton Creek, and Willaby.

Area Activities

The Olympic Peninsula has no shortage of recreation activites. Some include:

  • hiking
  • running
  • biking
  • beach combing
  • kayaking

The weekend following the event Divisioni 4 of the Hobie Class Association will be hosting an Area Championship open to all competitors. We invite attendees of the NACs to join the fun over the weekend. More information and registration can be found at https://hobiediv4.org.

We look forward to greeting you and sharing our wonderful waters with you.
