Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle (CYC) and Multihull Youth SAIL Foundation (MY SAIL) are pleased to announce a strategic partnership, combining CYC’s vast resources and acclaimed junior sailing program with MY SAIL’s leadership in multihull youth sailing. The partnership promises to enhance both programs significantly.
CYC’s Junior Program will expand its offerings beyond its Opti, FJ, and Vanguard fleets to include MY SAIL’s Hobie 16s. Through this partnership CYC can reach an expanded youth population. It will also be the first yacht club on Puget Sound to offer multihull youth camps. The clubs plan to introduce the Hobie Wave for younger kids in the near future. The partnership paves the way for MY SAIL to assist yacht clubs in offering multihull camps in their junior programs.
The two entities will take advantage of CYC’s prime location at Shilshole Marina to promote and build interest in multihull youth sailing. The 2021 program will feature five weeklong camps in the summer, with plans to double the offering in subsequent years. Participants will learn how to park, tack, gybe, and trap out on the Hobies, with opportunities to race them also.
